CRISIS RESPONSE PLANNING CONCLUDED

Multinational CIMIC Group staff conducted the CRP for Steadfast Jupiter21 Exercise

Motta di Livenza, 12th May 2021
From 12th April to 12th May 2021, at the Mario Fiore barracks, Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) base and, at the same time, at the Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACC) in Poggio Renatico, the MNCG's international staff conducted the Crisis Response Planning (CRP) phase of the Steadfast Jupiter 21 (STJU21) exercise, in close coordination with the Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS).
The coordination between the various HQs was possible thanks to the video-conferences and the classified software that made possible an activity that this year, due to Covid restrictions, took place in smart modality.
STJU21 is an exercise aimed at training and evaluating NATO Response Force 2022 (NRF22), under the lead of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS). The exercise, sponsored by the Supreme Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) and directed by the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC), is an all-level and highly complex computer-assisted / command post exercise (CAX/CPX). During the exercise the Multinational CIMIC Group will participate as a whole HQ, for the first time, in the framework of the NATO Response Force and the training will be functional to JOINTEVAL, an inter-force and combined evaluation event that will engage the MNCG in 2022.
The CRP phase aimed to carry out assessments of the operating environment from the CIMIC point of view and the production of suitable specific directives and operational plans in order to continue the planning process through the application of the Comprehensive Operational Planning Directive (COPD).
These training opportunities give the possibility to continue ensuring a level of preparation and professionalism in line with the institutional tasks and needs of the Atlantic Alliance. The MNCG, in fact, contributes annually with assets dedicated to supporting the NRF and the JRRF (Joint Rapid Reaction Force).
