DJIBUTI: CIMIC ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATIONS
The CIMIC cell of the Italian Military Support Base (BMIS) in Djibouti modernizes the premises of the Boulaos municipality Registry Office

During a ceremony held in recent weeks in the 1st arrondissement of Djibouti-Ville, the president of the Municipality of Boulaos, Mohamed Omar Ismail, and the CIMIC operators of the MNCG, proceeded to the inauguration of the northern sector of the Boulaos municipality headquarters, in the presence of the prefect, the deputy mayor and managers of the various neighboring councils. The premises, in charge of ensuring the registry service, have been renovated and adapted in terms of equipment thanks to the assessment and project management activities carried out by the CIMIC Cell of the BMIS. The project, carried out in order to contribute to the efficiency of the mentioned public offices services for the benefit of the population and, at the same time, to instill trust in the citizens, has allowed the restructuring of the premises also for adapting the structure to safety standards, as well as the supply of air conditioners and furnishings functional to the services provided by the civil status office, in order to make the areas more usable, both for the staff employed and for citizens. The CIMIC operators, during the ceremony, thanked the Authorities for the hospitality and friendship always reserved, highlighting the importance of investing in services to the citizens and hoping that the contribution provided can help the Municipality of Boulaos to provide more and more services to the population and can strengthen the relations between the Italian contingent and the Gibutian institutions.
