PROJECT IN FAVOUR OF CARITAS ASSOCIATION

MNCG specialists coordinated a project between the Association for Cooperation and Humanitarian Support (ACSU) and the local Caritas

Djibuti, June, 2021.
In recent weeks, in the local Caritas association offices, a donation ceremony was held by the ACSU (Association for Cooperation and Humanitarian Support), consisting mainly of retired officers of the Italian Army, in favor of Caritas itself. The project, coordinated by the CIMIC operators, as part of the Italian Military Support Base, provides for the creation, throughout the national territory, of some tailoring workshops managed by the “Consolata Sisters”, aimed at girls and young mothers in difficulty with the objective to give them skills to facilitate them in find out a job.
The donated material to the Bishopric of Djibouti consists of sewing machines and tailoring material.
The Bishop of Djibouti and Apostolic Nuncio of Mogadiso, Monsignor Giorgio Bertin, at the end of the short ceremony held in compliance with the anti-Covid restrictions, thanked the Italian contingent for the constant and fruitful commitment in favor of the most vulnerable and needy people of the area.
